Expanding into May

This time of year feels like a quiet turning point. After a season that demanded so much inward turning, May offers a different invitation: to expand.

I’ve been sitting with a thread from The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali that talks about how steadiness creates support, and when effort softens, space begins to emerge (Sutras 2.46 & 2.47). That’s the direction we’ll take in our practice this month. We’ll dive into work that reconnects us to the center so expansion feels supported, explore new perspectives through balance and rotation, and spend a lot of time opening through the front body.

Here’s what’s coming up in May:

NEW Weekly Class! Mindful Momentum Yoga (30 minute class): every Thursday at 7:30am Eastern - Simple mobility work and subtle strengthening pairs with breath and meditation to help start the day with intention and energy. Join as part of the Online Membership or purchase a drop in pass.

Focused Flow Yoga (60 minute class): every Sunday at 9:00am Eastern - Functional alignment, breath awareness and slow, Vinyasa-style flow come together in this welcoming class, with an emphasis on building strength, improving mobility and supporting a deeper connection to Self. Join as part of the Online Membership or purchase a drop in pass.

Extending Your Practice (90 minute class): Sunday, May 17 at 11:00am IN PERSON at Yoga with Love, Loch Arbour - This monthly workshop-style practice is full of inspired sequencing and thoughtful cueing with time to explore the nuance of familiar poses and ample space for rest. May’s practice will focus on shoulder and upper back mobilization and stabilization. Sign up through Yoga With Love’s website.

I’m looking forward to practicing together this month and exploring what expansion feels like for each of us.
